When a ten-year-old franchise comes to an end you know it's going to be part of the conversation, so, yes, we talk about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in this week's episode as well as look back at the franchise on a whole. We also discuss the idea of a film "taking us back to our childhood" as we head into our discussion of Winnie the Pooh .
And finally we take a closer examination of the idea Bill was trying to convey in his " Do Superhero Franchises Always Have to Begin With Origin Stories? " post earlier this week by taking a look at the differences between origin stories and a film supplying backstory. We take a look at examples of films that have done it right, some that have done it wrong and try to figure out just what exactly may the best way for these kinds of superhero franchises to advance in the future.
I would also like to mention that Laremy's audio on this one, and a little bit in last week's, is a bit wishy-washy at times and hopefully we will get that taken care of by next week's episode. But with that said I hope you enjoy this week's, we kept it just a shade under 35 minutes and hopefully you'll find it entertaining.

A couple of weeks ago the last Harry Potter film was released, thus officially ending the franchise (for now at least). Making eight films of good to great quality with the same cast is quite the accomplishment, but this podcast isn’t just about heaping praise on the series. While there is some of that, we also discuss the flaws and near misses as well as some “what if” scenarios.
For this episode we invited back Steve Jones, as he is our resident Potter expert/obsessive fan. I’d consider myself an enthusiast, while JP has read none of the books and only seen parts of some of the movies.
