Tractors, trucks hook sleds at Reeves Parkway
The Northwest Tractor Pull Association hosted its fourth annual event in Lebanon on Aug. 6 and 7.
Nearly 50 modified and stock tractors and trucks took to the Farmland Tractor Supply-owned field, located near the Lowe’s Distribution Center off of Reeves Parkway, during each day of the Lebanon Pull.
Of the 18 classes, nine winners recorded full pulls of 300 feet or more.
Marvin Wing swept the Lightweight Stock and Super Modified garden tractor competition during both days of the event.
Andy Rankin was the runner-up to Wing during opening day of the Lightweight Stock pulls, but came back to beat him in the Heavyweight class on both days.
Ken Crocker Sr. was another multi-class winner, taking the E-5000 tractor and Super Stock two-wheel drive competitions on both days.
Troy Hageman’s mark of 363 feet topped the Super Stock four-wheel drive class during the opening day, but the NWTPA vice president was denied a repeat when his daughter, Chelbi Hageman (294), bested his Aug. 7 distance (291) by three feet.
“I give her my truck, and then she beats me,” said Hagaman of his modified 1997 Dodge Ram.
Hageman added that the field of participants was lower than in previous years due to the late farming season, but the event was still a success.
“The hook-count was down, but the weather was nice and everybody had a good time,” Troy Hageman said.
The NWTPA will hold another event in Harrisburg on Sept. 17.
