BBB fundraiser putt nets golfer $10000

The Better Business Bureau of East Tennessee has capped another annual golf tournament fundraiser, but it is local golfer Rusty Cutshaw who is the big winner — to the tune of $10,000.

Cutshaw, representing the Cadillac of Knoxville team in the BBB tournament, sank a 50-foot putt during a putting contest to win the $10,000 cash prize.

"It was on the putting green just before the tournament, so all the golfers had a chance to witness it. It was a great way to start a tournament," said Jerry Tipton, president and CEO of the Better Business Bureau of East Tennessee.

The tournament was held July 20 at River Islands Golf Club. Tipton said it is the only fundraiser the local BBB chapter has each year, with the proceeds generally earmarked to help pay for mediation/arbitration services.

Cutshaw's winnings were covered by an insurance policy paid for by the BBB, according to Tipton.
