"Here and Now: Contemporary Works by Arena Art Group Members" -- A broad spectrum of works in diverse mediums by 16 Arena Art Group members. Some of the works include a diptych, mixed media inspired by stairs and staircases, fiber arts and digital photography. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. An opening reception is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 12. Friday Night in the Square concert series -- Free concerts from 7 to 9 p.m. Fridays in the converted alley between Jackson and Center streets in downtown Batavia from June 24 to Aug. 26. Summer Saturdays Arts Series -- Various artists perform at the Farmers Market from June 18 to Sept. 24. This year’s festival was outstanding, but I’ll begin by apologizing. If I had talent and/or a real camera I might do the artists in our annual festival justice. As it is, I’m a schlub with a smart phone camera, so please, imagine how awesome these would be live and in person.
