I had my doubts, so I called Shaw billing to ensure that my internet service was terminated on the requested date, Shaw confirms termination.

Two days later, overnight my modem goes offline, I called TSI support talking to 2 different support reps, they ensured me "100% it is an RF issue", I told them impossible as I still have cable tv on the same line they said it could be splitter or connector etc. They wanted to send a Shaw tech over, but it could cost me $99.

I told them NO tech is needed, period. The modem needs to be re-provisioned I explained, they say no. So I take my modem over to neighbours to be absolutely it's not RF connect issue to line where their Shaw modem was, So the modem doesn't connect next door either, and the neighbours Shaw modem works fine. So it's definitely not an RF issue, so I called Teksavvy support again and this time, a different rep says :"it is definitely a provisioning issue:, he will have to submit a ticket to Shaw, I could be down for as long as 48 hours possibly more, well 36 hours pass by and I happen to notice the modem lights stopped flashing and modem was online, So i'm now online with a Teksavvy IP address, I have 2 routers connected through a switch and each is needing an IP address even though TSI says only 1 IP is issued, I have read online that people in Ontario have been receiving 2 IP address with their TSI modem. My original SB5100 Shaw modem only gives me 1 IP at a time. I tried using the IP that was assigned to other router when it was connected on it's own of course it doesn't work, worth a shot though,

I have one router used for a VPN tunnel, right now it's working through the other router, so I can live without the other IP for now. but direct speeds from the modem are piss poor compared to Shaw, also Bit Torrent download is throttled. So I've had TSI in Greater Vancouver area for a couple days now and hopefully speeds will improve, Otherwise I may have to go back to Shaw also this 1 WAN IP address is a kicker too, Optik is not available in my area, yet?
