Customers Nailed for Non-payment at Salon

The Headliner:  

July 20, 3:47 p.m. – Three women and a man who had their nails done at Top Nails on Grant Avenue left without paying after screaming at the salon workers. Officer(s) contacted all parties.  One customer failed to pay the $8 owed because he did not agree with the price.  He agreed to provide the owner payment and the issue was resolved.  

July 20  

12:55 a.m. – Residents in the 1100 block of Ferris Drive complained of a loud party where they could hear things breaking.  Neighbors reported that the parents were away and that they suspected underage drinking.  Officer(s) contacted a group who were attending a gathering where no parents were present.  All of the parents were contacted and all attendees were picked up by their parents. 

8:10 a.m. – An anonymous report was received about a green Ford Astro van containing marijuana plants on San Miguel Way.  The plants could be clearly seen by anyone walking by it on the sidewalk.  Officer(s) contacted the owner of the vehicle who had a valid cannabis card.  He was transporting plants home and forgot to take them out of the vehicle. 

11:33 a.m. – Suspicious circumstances were reported in a dirt parking lot east of the Trader Joe’s building on Redwood Boulevard.  A man who appeared to be camping out of his red van was seen urinating in the lot.  An employee requested that he be contacted.  The man was in the process of cleaning up and was moved along. 

11:47 a.m. – Graffiti vandalism was reported in the 1100 block of Olive Avenue.  A fence was tagged with 18” red and white letters. 

5:19 p.m. – A stolen vehicle was reported on Hollyleaf Way.  A white ’94 Honda Civic was last seen the previous evening and was parked on Elmview Way.  The reporting party is in possession of the keys.  There is no suspect information available. 

7:07 p.m. – A man was arrested for possession of marijuana in the 1400 block of Grant Avenue. 

9:06 p.m. – A fraud was reported in the 200 block of Ignacio Valley Circle.  A reporting party had sent $1076.55 through Western Union after receiving a call from legal aid in Canada to bail out a grandson.  The reporting party has since discovered this was fraudulent.  

11:54 p.m. – A missing adult was reported in the 900 block of Simmons Lane.  A woman had not seen her mother since 10 p.m.  She believed she had been drinking.  The woman returned home.  There was no merit to the woman being a danger to her self or others.

I took a factory original, unfaded Candy Gold side cover to my auto paint store, to see if they could color match with their fancy tool. Couldn't; the nearest match turned out to be much too green. To match the on my K3, I had to use that nearest base color and top color (too green), then put a different, near match top color (too orange) in the clear coat. It took a few layers of the tinted clear coat to balance the green, but, overall, I got a good match to an unfaded original side tin. You may have to do something similar. The Candy series paints were layered, with a translucent color over a reflective base, so what I had to do somewhat replicated that process.
