You can check a product comparison chart for the “Surge Guard” portable models here  but summarizing, the best units are the ones that offer over and under voltage protection, reverse polarity detection, dangerous current on-ground wire indication, time delay at power connection (this protect A/C compressors) and, of course, being weather resistant. Probably you may want also to eliminate the models that don’t have a  Lock Hasp available because at the end you need to protect your investment from thieves.

Both units are pretty similar except for their current capacities (30-50 Amps) and the coding colors (Light green for the 30A and dark for the 50A unit). These devices monitor shore power all the time and shut-off if excessive voltage is detected or there is an open neutral connection. Another interesting feature is that the units indicate if there is a faulty or misconnected wire in the campsite pedestal and if the polarity is reversed.

The plus of these portable models is that they can be easily moved and connected between RVs if the need arises (not a fixed installation because it interconnects between your RV cable and the campground supply pedestal).
